NAC Breda are almost certain to remain in the Eredivisie next season after a 3-0 win over Heerenveen.

The home side went into the game three points ahead of the bottom three and knew a win would make their safety almost certain due to their goal difference.

NAC got off to a great start with Pablo Fernandes hammering a strike into the top corner from distance on seven minutes. Five minutes later, Mitchell Te Vrede made it 2-0 in almost identical circumstances.

Arber Zeneli nearly pulled one back for the visitors before the break, but Nigel Bertrams pulled off an excellent save in the NAC goal.

Early in the second half, Pablo Mari settled the game with a header from Angelino’s free-kick.

NAC remain 15th and three points ahead of Roda JC. However, Roda JC would have to turn around a 12 goal deficit to escape the bottom three. Heerenveen sit 7th.
