NAC Breda have moved nine points clear of the drop zone after beating 10-man ADO Den Haag 2-0 in the Kyocera Stadion.

The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute through Mounir El Allouchi, who smartly finished a dropping ball past Robert Zwinkels.

In the 38th minute the game swung even further in NAC’s favour with Wilfried Kanon bringing down Umar Sadiq leading to a penalty and a red card for the defender. Thierry Ambrose dispatched the spot-kick to make it 2-0.

ADO Den Haag’s fans were furious with referee Danny Makkelie and early in the second half the game was temporarily halted after a barrage of abuse from the home support.

After the game restarted ADO went looking for a way back into the game but were prevented by the woodwork twice and an in-form Nigel Bertrams. At the other end, Zwinkel’s prevented Sadiq from making it 3-0.

The win lifts NAC up to 13th and they are almost safe, while ADO Den Haag remain in 8th.
