poepen adAfter their 5-1 hammering of NEC last week, Feyenoord were looking confident at the beginning of the game, and Jelle ten Rouwelaar had to make a great save to deny Graziano Pelle’s header.

On 24 minutes Feyenoord did take the lead through Daryl Janmaat, who played a nice 1-2 with Pelle before firing past Rouwelaar from just inside the box.

Just before the break NAC were awarded a penalty for handball against Miquel Nelom, and Rydell Poepon made no mistake to make it 1-1.

The visitors had the best chance of the second half, as Janmaat sent in an excellent cross for Pelle, but the Italian striker could only head straight at Rouwelaar. NAC were reduced to ten men late on as Stipe Perica was given his marching orders, but despite playing against ten men for the last ten minutes, Feyenoord could not find a winner.

Should Ajax beat Heerenveen later on Sunday then Feyenoord will be seven points off the top. NAC remain 10th after the point.
