havenVitesse had the lead after eight minutes as a poor touch by Seuntjes allowed Zakaria Labyad to run through on goal and finish excellently past Jelle ten Rouwelaar.

The lead lasted only two minutes with NAC awarded a penalty for a foul by Guram Kashia, and Jordy Buijs rolled the penalty into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.

On 26 minutes Vitesse regained the lead when Christian Atsu’s cross found Mike Havenaar in the box, and the striker prodded the ball past Rouwelaar.

NAC had a great chance to equalise at the beginning of the second half, but Kees Kwakman’s header from a corner was saved by Piet Velthuizen.

The rest of the second period was a disappointing affair with neither side really coming close to changing the scoreline, and Vitesse held onto the win.

The loss keeps NAC Breda 10th, while Vitesse move above Twente, who play on Sunday, into second.
