NAC Breda couldn’t get a win in their first home game of 2019. ADO Den Haag held Mitchell van der Gaag’s side to a 1-1 draw.

The game got off to a slow start with both sides failing to create chances in the opening twenty minutes.

However, ADO Den Haag then took the lead out of nowhere. Nasser El Khayati played in Sheraldo Becker on the right with a lovely outside of the boot pass. Becker then crossed for Melvyn Lorenzen to finish.

NAC didn’t respond to falling behind and it could have been 2-0 before the break but this time Lorenzen hit the post.

Gervane Kastaneer was introduced by the hosts and six minutes after the break he equalised. The forward was allowed to run at the ADO defence and he struck a low shot into the bottom corner.

New NAC signing Sullay Kaikai was brought off the bench and the Englishman came close to making a dream debut. However, he missed two decent chances as NAC were forced to settle for a draw.

NAC remain 17th while ADO Den Haag are 11th.
