The 21-year-old, who is primarily a right-back but can play along the backline and in midfield, spent six months of last season on loan in Breda, making 17 appearances to help the club gain promotion to the Eredivisie.
On Monday, NAC confirmed that they had completed the permanent signing of the Englishman, who has signed a contract until 2020. With Manchester City seeing no future with Horsfield, they have allowed him to leave on a free transfer.
Horsfield becomes the tenth NAC Breda signing of the summer. Angeliño, Thierry Ambrose, Pablo Mari, Thomas Agyepong, Paolo Fernandes and Manu García are all on loan from Manchester City, while Nigel Bertrams came in from Willem II and Rai Vloet and Menno Koch signed from PSV Eindhoven.
