NAC Breda are further adrift at the bottom of the Eredivisie after a 0-0 draw against Groningen.

With De Graafschap earning a surprise 3-0 victory at PEC Zwolle, the pressure was on bottom of the table NAC Breda to get a victory against an in-form Groningen.

NAC controlled the opening but the first big chance fell to the visitors when Thomas Bruns found himself free against Benjamin van Leer, but the midfielder fired over.

For NAC, Gervane Kastaneer got their big chance of the first half but his effort was straight at Sergio Padt.

Both teams traded chances early in the second half but Ludovit Reis came closest with a strike against the woodwork. At the other end, Padt just prevented an effort from crossing the line despite protests from the NAC players that he hadn’t.

In the final minute, Ritsu Doan had a massive chance to win it for Groningen when he was played through on goal, but his effort was poor and straight at van Leer.

The draw means NAC are now four points adrift at the bottom while Groningen stay ninth.
