Two penalties from Gregor Breinburg saw NEC Nijmegen beat Roda JC and move them into the top ten.

The hosts were gifted an early lead when Mohamed Rayhi was brought down in the box by Daryl Werker in the 7th minute. Breinburg, who has been heavily linked with a move to LA Galaxy made no mistake from the spot to make it 1-0.

After the goal, NEC sat back and invited pressure from the visitors, but Roda JC were once again wasteful in front of goal with Mikhail Rosheuvel and Athanasios Papazoglou passing up decent opportunities to equalise before the break.

Ten minutes into the second half, Roda JC substitute Frederic Ananou brought down Ferdi Kadioglu which earned NEC another spot kick, which Breinburg dispatched confidently again.

The visitors could find no way back into the game and with Go Ahead Eagles earning a point at Excelsior they now slip to bottom. NEC move to 9th.
