vermiljThe struggling Eredivisie club, announced the deal on deadline day along with Jakob Jantscher, who joins from Red Bull Salzburg, and Samuel Štefánik coming in from Slovakian side AS Trenčín.

Vermijl is an exciting prospect, who joined Manchester United from Standard Liege in 2010, but the right back has only made one first team appearance in the League cup against Newcastle United. The 21-year-old has two U-21 caps for his native Belgium.

Jantscher joins to bolster the NEC attacking options, with the 24 year old capable on the wing or up front. In three years at Red Bull Salzburg, he has netted 19 league goals in 55 league matches, while he spent last season on loan with Russian side Dynamo Moscow.

Štefánik is a 21 year old midfielder, who has already appeared over 100 times for Slovakian side AS Trencin, netting 21 goals, while he had already netted four in seven games this season. The midfielder has signed a four year deal.

Technical director Edo Ophof told the official NEC site, “Vermijl is a right-back who has defensive and attacking qualities. Also, he gained a fantastic football education at Manchester United,”

“The first-team squad of NEC was in need of direct reinforcements. With the signing of these three players the squad gets a direct quality boost.

“Midfielder Stefanik and all round attacker Jantscher are strong players who could just give that little bit extra that a team needs.”

NEC will hope that their triple signing will be enough to take them away from their current position at the bottom of the Eredivisie table.
