The home side got off to a dream start with Michael Higdon given to much time from a corner to power a header into the net and give NEC the lead after only five minutes.
Go Ahead started to take control of the game as the half progressed, but Marnix Kolder, and Eric Falkenburg both missed chances to get their side level.
The away side eventually equalised on 58 minutes with Deniz Turuc firing an unstoppable effort from 30-yards into the top corner after the NEC defence stood off the midfielder.
Soren Rieks had the best chance to win the match for NEC, but he could not head into an empty net after Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper Patrick ter Mate was caught in no mans land.
The point is enough to lift NEC off the bottom of the table and into 16th place, while Go Ahead remain 13th.
