higdon bThe first game for NEC since Alex Pastoor was sacked, and the home side took the lead on 23 minutes, when they were awarded a penalty, which Michael Higdon slotted away for his first goal.

After 34 minutes, NEC were awarded another penalty after a foul by RKC’s defender Frank van Mosselveld, and Higdon once again slotted the penalty away.

In the second half, RKC were awarded a penalty of their own, and third of the match on 63 minutes, and Sander Duits made no mistake to make it 2-1, and put the home side under pressure.

Seven minutes later, RKC equalised with Aurelien Joachim netting with a great finish into the corner, as NEC Nijmegen missed the chance to get their first win of the season.

NEC stopped the rot, but are still without a win all season, and need to find a new manager, and sign some new recruits over the next week. RKC showed good resistance in the second half, and their point keeps them in a safe mid-table position.
