nec conThe first action came after 18 minuted when NEC were awarded a controversial penalty for a challenge by Danny Holla which appeared to be outside the box. However justice was done as Ryan Koolwijk saw his penalty saved by ADO keeper Zwinkels.

NEC finally took the lead on 31 minutes with Kevin Conboy curling a free kick into the bottom corner from just outside the box.

The lead only lasted two minutes as ADO Den Haag were awarded a penalty of their own for a foul by Marnick Vermijl, and Danny Holla made no mistake from the spot to make it 1-1.

Vermijl made up for his foul by giving NEC the lead once again, as the right back got forward to finish of a nice team move ten minutes before half time.

The points were sealed with 25 minutes left when a long Conboy free kick was met by Rene van Eijden, who’s looping header found the net.

A crucial three points for NEC which lifts them up to 16th, and above ADO Den Haag, who could move to the bottom if Cambuur triumph over Go Ahead Eagles.
