ADO Den Haag were desperate for their first victory of 2019 but it was the visitors that made the brighter start. Brandley Kuwas tested ADO goalkeeper Robert Zwinkels with a nice effort, while Lennart Czyborra and Jesper Drost went close.
Sheraldo Becker, Nasser El Khayati and Tom Beugelsdijk all got chances for ADO Den Haag but found Heracles goalkeeper Janis Blaswich in their way. ADO also had a penalty appeal turned down after Mohammed Osman pushed over Erik Falkenburg.
The game seemed to be heading for a 0-0 draw but substitute Tomas Necid then inspired the hosts to victory. On 79 minutes, the striker found the bottom corner after good work by Wilfried Kanon. Necid then sealed the victory with a header a minute from time.
The victory lifts ADO Den Haag up to 11th. Heracles remains 8th.
