David Neres has hinted that he will remain at Ajax next season after recovering from a knee issue.

The Brazilian was linked with a move away from Ajax last summer but stayed in Amsterdam. However, he hasn’t played since November after injuring his knee in the 4-4 draw with Chelsea.

Neres is still recovering from the injury and he told AD that he is fully focused on returning for Ajax next season “These were the most difficult months in my career as a footballer. At first it seemed like a very simple injury, but during my recovery it became more and more complicated and complications arose.

“I have done a lot of strength training and that has helped. I hope to do well for the team next season. That starts with a good preparation with the team. I think we can go through another strong season. I hope for myself that my knee will continue to recover well. “
