Netherlands have been handed a tough group in the World Cup draw after being paired with Australia, Chile and in a repeat of the 2010 final, Spain.

draw wcLouis van Gaal’s team were drawn in Group B of the competition, and will start the competition with a showdown against World Champions Spain.

Australia will be the opponents in the second game, before facing tough South American side Chile in the final group game.

Should Netherlands qualify from their group they will face one of the teams from Group A in the Second Round, which includes hosts and favourites Brazil, Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon.

The group is already being considered as one of the toughest groups in the competition, and although not an impossible task for the Dutch, it will be a tough task to get through.

Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia

Group C: Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

Group F: Argentina, Bosnia, Iran, Nigeria

Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA

Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, South Korea
