The big news ahead of the two fixtures is that Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong could be in line to make his first cap for the Dutch and Steven Bergwijn, excellent during PSV’s Champions League qualification for the group stage, has dropped down to the under 21s squad for their crucial games against England and Scotland.
Other players to have been cut from the provisional squad are Marco Bizot (AZ), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Fulham), Hans Hateboer (Atalanta), Terence Kongolo (Huddersfield), Guus Til (AZ), Eljero Elia (İstanbul Başakşehir), Steven Berghuis (Feyenoord) and Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg).
Oranje will first play a friendly against Peru in Amsterdam, in honour of Wesley Sneijder’s final appearance for the national team, followed by a Nations League tie in France.
