The Netherlands is now sitting eighth in the UEFA Coefficient list after Feyenoord’s 3-1 win over CSKA Moscow on Thursday evening.

Following on from Ajax’s win over Midtjylland in the Champions League, Feyenoord also added points to the coefficient with their win over CSKA Moscow.

Because all four Belgian sides, Club Brugge, Antwerp, Standard Liege, and AA Gent, all lost in Europe this week they added no points. That means the Netherlands has now overtaken their neighbour into eighth spot in the list.

It is the highest position the Netherlands have been in the coefficient list since 2014 and they can now start to look even further to Russia, who currently sit in seventh.

If Netherlands continues to improve their position then it wouldn’t be unrealistic for the Netherlands to have two clubs in the Champions League group stages.
