Frank de Boer has named his 24-man Netherlands squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Next week, Netherlands start their World Cup qualifiers with a tie in Turkey before they face Latvia and Gibraltar.
De Boer confirmed his squad on Friday with Mainz 04 defender Jeremiah St Juste called up for the first time. Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is also included.
The big exclusion is Wout Weghorst with the Wolfsburg striker once again overlooked despite his good form. De Boer prefers Luuk de Jong. Quincy Promes has also been left out, while Stefan de Vrij has tested positive for coronavirus.
The full squad can be seen below.
This is just a joke. van de Beek injured and doesn’t play for MU. Blind injured and Ajax is better without him. de Jong 4 goals i 24 matches for Sevilla as a substitute because is too weak for 1st team, still good for national team. Babel 3 goals in 23 matches, substitute for Galatasaray as he is too weak for Turkish league. Conclusion for de Boer? Holland is worse than Galatasaray. This is just beyond me
Weghorst out??!!! I can’t believe!
My first eleven: Cillesen, PVA, Blind, De Ligt, Dumfries, De Jong, De Roon, Wijnaldum, Stengs, Malen, Depay.
Weghorst might be the only player in the top five in goal scoring in one of the top five leagues not getting a call-up, aside from Kevin Volland (and unfortunately the competition for forwards is a lot tougher in the German squad than the Dutch one).
As Jose Mourinho says âworst manager in premier league history.â Frank Deboerâs squad selection is absolutely ridiculous. I bet his starting 11 will be even worst. Iâm trying to make logical sense of this, because surely a guy who has been around football this long is not this unintelligent.
The only theory I can come up with judging from a distance is that KNVB doesnât really care about this yearâs Euro. And instead, has opted to group young and promising strikers to increase the competition and subsequent quality among them on the U21 team so that they can fill the obvious lacking quality up front. There is no doubt on the menâs national team there is deep talent on defense and adequate talent in the mid field. But the obvious is that the Dutch lack strikers.
Letâs hope this is a move to display how poor the current strikers are ie. Luuk Dejong, Ryan Babel etc. and their surely disappointing performances which will justify a move to call up young and battle ready strikers for the World Cup. There is no other logic or rational I can come up with to leave out the Bundesligaâs 3rd leading scorer in Wout Weghorst for Luuk Dejong or Ryan Babel.
Ronald Koeman used to call luuk but in most cases he used to play with a false 9 so luuk was a just in case striker that time i didnt complain as luuk is experienced more than weghorst but now FDB plays with a striker so now i can complain weghorst is far better than him and more strong or at least call the both and leave babel who i dont know why he is still joining
there is another disaster noone talked about what is that defense only de ligt as a center back and a poor st juste
management is really poor
for me i would go for a 433 532 in the same time
cillesen
dumfries veltman de ligt blind PVA/wijndal
Frenkie
Berghuis wijnaldum
Malen memphis
it can be changed to 433 with blind can play as cdm and frenkie going forward he used to play for barca like that and berghuis malen depay front 3
If injuries and squad selection didn’t interfere, this would be my ultimate starting 11 as of today: 4-3-3
Weghorst
Depay Malen
Gravenberch/Koopmeiners Wijnaldum
F. Dejong
Wijndal Devrij/Dumfries
VanDijk DeLigt
Cillesen
i hope to see this squad one day all playing together but de vrij cant play as a right back but he is a good back-up for de ligt and van dijk who i hope to return before euros
sack de boer this team is a joke
I donât know too many players in the Dutch side , but I used to love de boer
I think he has made the right decisions
