Netherlands U17’s have qualified for this summer’s European Championships after a 5-2 victory over the Czech Republic.

The Oranje U17’s had already beaten Israel and Northern Ireland over the past week and qualified for the European Championships as at least one of the best runners-up.

Against the Czech Republic, Netherlands were going for top spot in the group but after six minutes, Michal Sevcik fired the young Czech side ahead.

Ajax striker Brian Brobbey leveled the scores midway through the first half with a clever lob.

In the second half, Netherlands ran away with the game as Mohamed Sankoh headed Oranje ahead before Mohamed Taabouni made it 3-1. The excellent Brobbey made it 4-1 with a header before Sontje Hansen’s free-kick made it five.

The Czech Republic pulled back a late consolation through Filip Silhart’s penalty.

Netherlands win all three group games and will defend their crown when the Euros take place this May.
