Netherlands U17’s began a four-nation tournament in Germany with a simple 4-0 win over Israel.

Kees van Wonderen’s side needed only eight minutes to take the lead with Daishawn Redan winning a penalty before slotting it into the net.

However, that was the only goal of the first half as Israel kept Netherlands at bay. Four minutes after the break, substitute Manuel Pherai, who plays at Borussia Dortmund, made it 2-0 before Vicente Besuijen made it 3-0 on the hour mark after an error by the Israeli goalkeeper.

A late Pherai header made it 4-0 before the end to round off a comfortable victory.

Next up for Netherlands is a tie against Italy on Sunday.
