Netherlands U17’s have reached the Elite round of qualifying for the European Championships after beating Montenegro 6-0 on Sunday.

After the 10-1 demolition of Liechtenstein last week, Netherlands knew a win over Montenegro would be enough to seal a top two spot in the group.

Peter van der Veen’s side took the lead in the 14th minute through Mohamed Taabouni, who netted from close range. Jayden Braaf made it 2-0 shortly afterwards before Naoufal Bannis added a third from the penalty spot. Ajax striker Sontje Hansen sealed a convincing first half by adding a fourth.

Hansen and another Bannis penalty made it 6-0 at the end and seal Netherlands place in the next round. On Wednesday, Netherlands face Sweden to decide who finishes top of the group.
