Netherlands U18’s came from behind to defeat the Czech Republic’s U18’s 2-1 in Prague.

Netherlands nearly made a rapid start to the tie in Prague but Bayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee fired just over the bar in the opening minute.

The visitors controlled the tie but a lapse in concentration at the back on seven minutes saw Czech striker Filip Firbacher rob Ramon Hendriks of the ball before firing the hosts in front.

Netherlands missed several chances to equalise but were also fortunate to not be 2-0 down after Hendrik’s conceded a penalty early in the second half. Nicolas Penner tried a Panenka which came back off the bar.

Feyenoord winger Marouan Azarkan was brought on and he inspired the comeback. Firstly on 58 minutes, Azarkan cut in from the right before firing a strike into the far corner. Then in the 86th minute, Azarkan set up Feyenoord teammate Crysencio Summerville to net the winner.

This is the only friendly for U18’s this international period, but in November they will take part in a tournament in Spain.

Netherlands U18 starting line-up: Daan Reiziger, Bart van Rooij, Quinten Timber, Ramon Hendriks, Dennis Vos, Damian Timan, Kenzo Goudmijn, Immanuel Pherai, Vicente Besuijen, Joshua Zirkzee, Elayis Tavsan.
