Netherlands U19’s will face Portugal in the European Championship semi-finals after a 1-1 draw with Bulgaria saw Oranje progress along with England.

Netherlands knew a victory would be enough for them to finish in the top two in the group and progress, but they were frustrated by Bulgaria in a goalless first half.

Finally in the 50th minute, Manchester City midfielder Rodney Kongolo broke the deadlock to put Netherlands ahead. However, that lead only lasted five minutes before Georgi Rusev equalised.

Netherlands couldn’t find a winner before the end, but that didn’t matter as England’s 4-1 win over Germany in the other group game meaning Oranje qualified for the semi’s in second place. Netherlands will now face Portugal on Wednesday, while England meet the Czech Republic.
