There were contrasting results for Netherlands youth sides tonight with the U19’s hammering Andorra 7-0, while the U20’s drew 2-2 with Turkey.

nouriu19Netherlands U19’s are in Poland hoping to qualify for the Elite round of the European Championship qualifying, and their first group game against Andorra finished with a huge win. The Dutch proved far too good for their opponents, and goals from Richairo Zivkovic, Abdelhak Nouri (2), Bilal Ould Chikh, Donny van de Beek (2) and Damien van Bruggen in the second half saw them comfortably win.

Netherlands U19’s line-up: Van Osch, Diks (46. Owusu), Van Bruggen, Riedewald, Van de Beek, Ould-Chikh, Nieuwkoop, Zivkovic (55. Van Amersfoort), Verdonk, Kada (61. Kallon), Nouri.

Netherlands U19’s now face Moldova on Saturday and then Poland on Monday.

In a four team friendly tournament, Netherlands U20’s began their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Turkey.

Netherlands took the lead through Elvio van Overbeek, but Turkey, who had Feyenoord winger Bilal Basacikoglu in their starting eleven leveled through Cenk Sahin before the break.

In the second half Netherlands were reduced to ten men with Kevin Luckassen shown his second yellow card, and with the extra man Turkey took the lead through Berat Tosun. However Netherlands dug deep and an 87th minute penalty netted by Vincent Janssen earned them a draw.

Netherlands now face England, who beat Germany 1-0, on Saturday
