Netherlands U20’s made it two wins from two in the international break after a 3-2 victory over Italy.

After a victory over Switzerland last week, Netherlands U20’s went in search of another win against Italy but fell behind to PEC Zwolle striker Gianluca Scamacca’s opener.

However, Netherlands fought back before the break with Dylan Vente netting an equaliser on the rebound after Cody Gakpo’s strike was saved. Gakpo, who netted a hattrick against Switzerland, then made it 2-1 with a fine strike.

Netherlands dominated and could have added further goals but out of nowhere, Italy equalised halfway through the second half when Scamacca fired in a free-kick.

It appeared that the game was heading for a draw but moments after Italy were reduced to ten men, Noa Lang fired Netherlands back in front. The Ajax midfielder would then see red for an off the ball incident but Oranje held on for the victory.
