Netherlands U20’s and U18’s were both in action on Thursday with differing results. Below is a round-up of the action.

Netherlands U20 0-1 Germany U20

Dwight Lodeweges Netherlands U20’s slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Germany in a close encounter.

Görkem Saglam netted a penalty early on to put Germany 1-0 up, but Netherlands then came on strongly in search for an equaliser. Jay-Roy Grot and Dani de Wit went close, while Sierhuis was unlucky to see a penalty appeal turned down after a handball by a German defender.

Netherlands pushed hard for a late equaliser but couldn’t find a way through.

Netherlands U18 0-0 Austria U18

The first official match at the new KNVB campus saw Netherland u18’s play out a 0-0 draw with Austria.

Both sides created several chances during the game, with Netherlands going close through Thomas Buitink, but no goals were scored.
