The draw for the 2021 European Championship qualifiers was made on Tuesday with Netherlands drawn with Portugal in a tricky group.

Netherlands have failed to qualify for the U21 Euros for the last three tournaments. Earlier this year they finished second to England in a bid to reach next year’s Euros, but were not one of the best runners up.

To reach the 2021 Euros, Netherlands will need to get the better of Portugal, Norway, Belarus, Cyprus and Gibraltar.

The qualification for the European Championship of 2021 will take place between March 2019 and October 2020. The top team from each group heads straight to the tournament while second has a chance of the playoffs.
