Netherlands Women made it two wins from two in February with a 2-1 victory over Germany.

Last week, Sarina Wiegman’s side defeated Belgium 6-1 in their first friendly match of the international period. On Wednesday, Oranje Vrouwen came up against Germany, who are ranked number two in the world.

After fifteen minutes, Jackie Groenen opened the scoring for Netherlands after latching onto a pass from Jill Roord. Germany defended well from that point and then got an equaliser before the break through Laura Freigang.

After an hour, Roord saw her effort hit the bar but Daniëlle van de Donk was there to net what turned out to be the winning goal for Netherlands.

A great victory for Netherlands in their preparations for the Olympics later this year.
