Netherlands Women missed several chances as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Germany in Limburg on Friday.

Lineth Beerensteyn needs to replace the injured Vivianne Miedema at the World Cup and she was looking to prove herself on Friday, However, she missed several chances in the first half, while Daniëlle van de Donk also hit the post.

The Netherlands dominated but in the 53rd minute, Sydney Lohmann headed in a corner to give Germany the lead.

Damaris Egurrola had the best chance to equalise for the Netherlands afterward but she was denied by the German goalkeeper. At the other end, Laura Freigang hit the post.

Next Tuesday, the Netherlands continue their World Cup preparations against Poland.
