New Barcelona boss Xavi Hernández has praised Memphis Depay while challenging Frenkie de Jong to score more goals.

Xavi held a press conference on Friday ahead of the local derby against Espanyol and he was asked about all three Dutch players at the club.
About Memphis, Xavi said, “He is a very important player for us. We are talking about a player who can make a difference. He showed that again this week with the Dutch national team. He can play as a striker and wing attacker. Tomorrow will show how we are going to do it, but we need him badly. He is one of the goalscorers of the team.”
Xavi is willing to give everyone a clean slate including Luuk de Jong, “We need all the available players. Everyone is important at Barcelona, including Luuk.”
On Frenkie de Jong, Xavi challenged the midfielder to contribute more going forward, “Frenkie is a player who has to be very important to us. He has to reach the penalty area, score goals, break the lines… He too can make a difference.”

Xavi is spot on regarding Frenkie, Koeman said the same and pushed him to become more like Xavi is saying now too. This will not only help Barca but raise Frenkie to a higher level of worth for the team.
