The KNVB has revealed the new Netherlands home shirt that will be worn at the European Championships next summer.

The new Nike kit was revealed on Tuesday morning which is of course orange with black shorts. The pattern on the front makes the Dutch lion more visible on the front and gives it a prominent role.

The KNVB said in a statement, “The lion has always been a powerful symbol for the Netherlands and Dutch football. It stands for pride, strength and courage, values ​​that Orange likes to propagate on the football field. Thanks to Nike, the lion will be more explicitly visible than ever on the new uniforms of the Orange selections in 2020.”

Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk added, “The new kit is unique and I love the message it conveys. We need a lion mentality to be successful and we will show everyone how proud and strong we are.”
