Nigel de Jong is set to sign a one-year-deal with Qatari side Al-Ahli. 

The 33-year-old arrived in the middle-east on Monday and will officially join his new side on Tuesday, penning a one-year deal after a medical. Voetbal Primeur is reporting that there is an option for a second-year.

The former Ajax, Manchester City and AC Milan midfielder is a free agent after leaving German Bundesliga side Mainz 05 at the end of the season.

The 81-time Dutch international will be joining his eighth club having also represented Galatasaray, LA Galaxy and Hamburg.
