Hamburg midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart will not be returning to Ajax the player’s agent has confirmed.

Frank de Boer tried to sign the 31 year old a couple of weeks ago but the player prefers to stay in Germany where he still has one year left on his Hamburg contract.
The news was confirmed to Voetbal international by the midfielder’s agent Robert Geerlings who talked about the telephonic conversation between the two parties.
Van der Vaart came through the youth academy and made over a 100 appearances for the Lancers before moving to Hamburg in German Bundesliga.
Over the last few days the former Real Madrid midfielder has also denied rumours that he will once again link up with his former manager Harry Redknapp at Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.
