fernandez asOn their own website the club says it ended his trial prematurely. The main reason for that decision was a lack of pace to the former Feyenoord and Zwolle man’s game.
Fernandez became a free agent after a loan spell with the current KNVB Cup winners ended, as well as his contract at parent club Feyenoord.

Before Feyenoord he played for another Rotterdam club, Feyenoord’s little brother Excelsior. At Excelsior he will always be remembered for scoring a vital goal against the third professional club from the largest port city in Europe: Sparta. In the dying seconds of an encounter between the two sides at Sparta Stadium, Guyon Fernandez scored an equalizer for Excelsior which was enough to send Sparta down and promote his own club into the top flight.

His spell at Feyenoord wasn’t as successful. Durig his first season with the club he was banned for six games for hitting an opponent and during a game with PSV some time later he headbutted PSV’s Marcelo which saw him banned again (5 games) and fined by his club.
