Despite reports on Sunday that Newcastle United were closing in on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum there has been no offer yet from the Premier League club

Both the Evening Chronicle and the Sunday People reported this morning that Newcastle United were closing in on the PSV captain, with talks advanced between the two clubs.
However that news has been denied by Eindhoven Dagblad reporter Rik Elfrink, who states there has been no concrete offer for Wijnaldum since Zenit’s rejected €10 million bid last month. Although he suggests Newcastle are interested, Wijnaldum will turn up for PSV training on Monday.
