The Guardian reported on Monday that Sunderland had made a £11 million bid for Georginio Wijnaldum, but that has been denied by Eindhoven Dagblad’s PSV watcher Rik Elfrink, who believes the Premier League club have made no contact for the Eindhoven club’s captain.

Wijnaldum is expected to leave PSV this summer in search of a new adventure, with Zenit st Petersburg having a €10 million bid rejected last week.
Newcastle United, Marseille and Monaco are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old who has a €15-20 million price tag on his head.
