The 20-year-old collapsed due to heart failure during a friendly with Werder Bremen on the 8th of July and later Ajax confirmed the devastating news that Nouri had suffered permanent brain damage due to his brain being starved of oxygen for too long.
On Tuesday, Ajax updated Nouri’s situation with “Appie” now out of intensive care and breathing unaided. However, they add that, despite being out of a coma, Nouri’s brain condition remains unchanged.
