The 23-year-old winger has been with Utrecht since 2010, making over 100 appearances in the Cathedral city, scoring five goals and adding 23 assists.
Oar’s contract is up in the summer, and speaking to Four Four Two Australia, the former Brisbane Roar star confirmed he will depart Utrecht at the end of the season.
Oar said, “I’ve notified Utrecht that I won’t be re-signing.”
“I was completely honest with them at the end of January, when I knew I was staying for the rest of the season.
“I’m at a good age in my career. I’m looking to take the next step in my career and my development.
I’m still not sure which direction I’ll go in, but I’m focused on doing the best I can for Utrecht.
“If I can do that then it’ll only help my cause when I’m trying to find a new team.”
On interest from Ajax, Oar added, “The press in Holland is always saying a lot about that, but I still haven’t heard anything about it,”
“I’m not sure about the whole Ajax situation. Of course, it’s a great team, but there’s a lot of great teams not only in Holland but also in Europe.”
