KRC Genk have confirmed the appointment of John van den Brom as their new head coach.

Van den Brom has signed a contract until mid-2023 with the current number seven of the Belgian Pro League. He takes assistant Dennis Haar with him.

The Dutchman has been in charge of Utrecht since the summer of 2019 but leaves the club for his second adventure in Belgium. He was previously in charge of Anderlecht.

Van den Brom still had a contract until 2022 so Utrecht have received around โ‚ฌ500,000 for the coach.

Utrecht will now look for a new head coach with Rene Hake and Ricky Kruysย taking charge of their game against Ajax on Sunday. Mark van Bommel and Dirk Kuyt are two other names that have been put forward for the position.
