The 25-year-old spent six months on loan with Deportivo last season and made 11 appearances in La Liga.

John has been linked with a return to Netherlands with PSV and Feyenoord, but Fox Sports is reporting that an agreement is now in place that could see the former Twente star move to Spain permanently. Deportivo have agreed a fee of €3.3 million with Benfica.

However, Deportivo still need to agree personal terms with John, who reportedly has doubts over the deal and is curious about other interested clubs.
