According to Voetbal International, Chelsea remains in the running for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana despite interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Cameroonian stopper has made it clear he is open to a move away from Amsterdam this summer, although Ajax are still hoping to convince Onana to sign a new deal.

That looks unlikely though with the interest in Onana ramping up in recent weeks. Last week both De Telegraaf and VI reported that Bayer Leverkusen was hoping to sign the 24-year-old but had a €20 million offer rejected.

VI is now reporting that Chelsea are still in the running despite their initial unwillingness to meet Ajax’s €30 million asking price.

Frank Lampard is not satisfied with current keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and wants to attract a new stopper this summer. Onana is their target and Chelsea will keep an eye on the situation in the coming months.
