PSV Eindhoven are on the lookout for a new left-back but their move for AC Milan’s Ricardo Rodriguez seems to have hit a dead end.
They have now reportedly turned their attention to Ouwejan, who has been dropped to the bench with AZ Alkmaar this season in favour of Owen Wijndal. However, PSV’s loan bid with an option to make it permanent has been rejected by AZ.
After AZ’s 2-1 win at Heerenveen on Saturday, Ouwejan spoke with Algemeen Dagblad and had a go at his club for blocking a big chance for him.
He said, “I blame AZ.
“This is my thirteenth year at AZ. I have always given everything. I have had a tough six months here. I have played every game for two seasons. Then it falls raw on your roof that you now hardly play anything anymore. Now comes PSV. is such a great opportunity for me. Then it’s a shame that AZ handles it that way. “
“I think they want to rent me, with an option to buy. You can look at it from different angles. AZ thinks: we are not going to make our competition stronger and we want to keep our own selection. I stand in such a way: I make so few minutes here and now get a good chance. Grant me it. see also what happens at PSV. There are possibilities on the left back. I can see that. “
