An efficient Groningen punished PEC Zwolle for a host of missed chances with a 4-0 victory in the MAC³PARK Stadion.

Groningen made a lightning start to the game with Simon Tibbling combining with Ruben Jenssen before firing past Mickey van der Hart after only 40 seconds.
PEC Zwolle then had several chances to equalise but Wout Brama fired over the bar, while Sergio Padt denied both Queensy Menig and Kingsley Ehizibue. Five minutes before the break, Groningen punished the hosts for their misses with Tom van Weert netting from close range after Hans Hateboer’s cross came off the post.
The hosts missed more chances at the start of the second half and eventually Groningen made it 3-0 on 77 minutes as Albert Rusnak finished off a swift counter. Mimoun Mahi then sealed the victory late on with a strike that beat van der Hart from a tight angle.
The victory lifts Groningen up to 10th while PEC Zwolle are 15th.
