Ajax began brightly and took the lead on seven minutes when Davy Klaassen headed in a free kick. The visitors should have been further ahead but Siem de Jong missed two glorious chances to extend the lead.
PEC Zwolle made Ajax pay before half time as Guyon Fernandez was sent through on a breakaway, and although Kenneth Vermeer saved his initial effort, the forward tapped in the rebound to make it 1-1.
The home side somehow didn’t take the lead on 69 minutes when Fred Benson hit the post, and from the rebound Jesper Drost hit the bar.
Neither side could find a winner in the last 20 minutes and had to settle for a point apiece. The draw sees Ajax move five points clear of 2nd placed FC Twente, while PEC Zwolle remain 8th.
Again this is why need to buy a legit poacher..de jong had a great chance to extend the league but instead just blast it over the ball we need a cool headed striker who wouldve just guided it in with ease..esp the way things been going i would not be surprise that its going to be a tight race for the title esp if we keep up this mediacore run. I just hope fisher gets his form back soon..
