PEC Zwolle came out on top in the  IJssel-derby as they saw off Go Ahead Eagles 2-0 at the IJsseldelta Stadion.

fernanThe home side had the better of a quiet first half, and eventually took the lead in stoppage time, as Mateusz Klich played through Jesper Drost, and the winger stabbed the ball through Stephan Andersen.

With 25 minutes left Go Ahead Eagles were awarded a penalty when Jarchinio Antonia was brought down by Klich, but Jop van der Linden’s poor spot kick was kept out by Diederik Boer.

Go Ahead Eagles came close to equalising in stoppage time when goalkeeper Andersen met a cross with an overhead kick, but the goal-bound effort was blocked.

With Go Ahead pushing for a goal, they were hit on the counter by PEC Zwolle, and after a fine solo run Guyon Fernandez found the net with the last kick of the game.

Go Ahead Eagles slip down to 15th, and are now just above the relegation zone, while PEC Zwolle remain 8th.
