The visitors took the lead after 35 minutes through Mike Havenaar, who placed a shot into the bottom corner from just inside the box after being set up by Roland Alberg, who returned to the ADO Den Haag side after being dropped by boss Henk Fraser. Five minutes into the second half Alberg nearly made it 2-0 but his free kick came back off the woodwork and rebounded to safety.
PEC Zwolle had struggled to find a way through a well drilled ADO Den Haag defence, but after a mistake by Gianni Zuiverloon presented Sheraldo Becker with a chance, the winger made no mistake to fire the home side level on 70 minutes.
Ten minutes later PEC Zwolle took the lead with Becker turning provider to set up Lars Veldwijk for a simple finish, and his sixth goal of the season.
The goal proved to be the winner which lifts PEC Zwolle temporarily up to 2nd, while ADO Den Haag sit 13th.
