After hammering Excelsior 5-0 last week PEC Zwolle were once again comfortable winners, this time seeing off ADO Den Haag 3-1 on Sunday.

Both Necid and Jesper Drost tested ADO Den Haag goalkeeper Martin Hansen in a good opening period for the home side.

On 17 minutes Drost was brought down in the box by Thomas Kristensen and Necid slammed the penalty into the roof of the net to give PEC Zwolle a deserved lead.

The visitors hardly troubled Warner Hahn in the PEC Zwolle goal, with Roland Alberg sending a long range shot wide in a rare moment of hope in the first half for Henk Fraser’s side.

PEC Zwolle continued to dominate after the break and on 57 minutes Necid found an unmarked Drost on the edge of the box, and the attacker spun before slotting the ball past Hansen to make it 2-0.

Necid netted his second of the game to make it 3-0, but ADO Den Haag responded immediately with Michiel Kramer taking advantage of a scramble to volley in from close range to give the away side a consolation goal.

The win moves PEC Zwolle temporarily fifth above FC Twente, while struggling ADO Den Haag sit 15th.
