The away side went into the side having won all four of their Eredivisie fixtures, but they were dealt a blow early on in Zwolle as star man Memphis Depay was forced off with injury.
PEC Zwolle had the better chances but just after the half hour mark Joost Broerse handled in his box and PSV were awarded a penalty, which Luuk de Jong calmly dispatched to make it undeservedly 1-0.
Five minutes before the break PEC Zwolle drew level through an error from PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet who could only palm Jesper Drost’s poor shot into his own net.
Joost Broerse made up for his earlier error to give PEC Zwolle the lead with an excellent free kick which curled over the wall and into the net via the post.
De Jong thought he had equalised when he headed into the net but it ruled out for offside and with three minutes to go Ben Rienstra powered into the box before chipping over Zoet to seal the win for PEC Zwolle.
The two teams are now level at the top of the league with PSV remaining in first due to goal difference.
