PEC Zwolle defeated Sparta Rotterdam 2-0 to register their first win since February.

The hosts went into the game without a win since the 6th of February, but they got off to a perfect start with Youness Mokhtar converting a Younes Namli cross after only two minutes.

Sparta then had chances to net the equaliser but Diederik Boer saved from Thomas Verhaar, while Michiel Kramer fired the rebound wide. Verhaar also fired a good chance past the post after being set up by Robert Muhren.

Early in the second half, Ryan Thomas almost netted a second for PEC Zwolle, but his cross come shot hit the crossbar before going behind the goal. Just after the hour mark, the home side did kill the game off with a big help from Sparta as Parzyszek intercepted a poor pass by goalkeeper Jannik Huth before slotting the ball into the net.

With the victory PEC Zwolle move up to sixth while Sparta remain second bottom.
