PEC Zwolle have eased their relegation fears with a simple 3-0 victory over Emmen.

Only four points separated PEC Zwolle from second-bottom Emmen heading into Sunday’s clash with both sides looking to boost their survival chances.

After only three minutes, the home side took the lead when Vito van Crooij finished well after being played in by Younes Namli.

Luciano Slagveer fired an excellent chance to equalise over the bar and on the stroke of halftime PEC Zwolle doubled their lead. Lennart Thy tapped into the net after Mike van Duinen’s effort was parried.

Emmen failed to make a comeback in the second half and in the final minute, Thy added a third to seal the simple victory.

PEC Zwolle climb up to 12th while Emmen remains 17th.
